Born of a substance P1

One of the most fascinating subjects from Genesis to Revelation is the subject of faith. This is because it is the foundation to every believer and as you may well know, the foundation of everything in life is very important.

As a believer, God is your foundation and His word is your standing. When we are born again, we are born of a substance and this substance is faith upon a foundation which is the word of God. Without this foundation, it is impossible to come into the nature of God where you can begin to build great things.

In this lesson, we will begin to define what this substance is and what God expects us to do with it.

A What is faith?

  1. Faith is a substance. Hebrews 11:1. What therefore is a substance? Substance is anything you can see and touch, yet this substance we are talking about here cannot be looked at, handled or felt. It is greater than what we can see. It goes beyond human wisdom.

The substance you see around you i.e. cars, houses, money will all pass away. However, the very things which you think you cannot see i.e. eternity, heaven etc., are all substance of all things which God is trying to explain to us. 1 Timothy 6:12, 19, Matthew 24:35 Because this substance cannot be seen i n the physical, the only way to lay hold of it is through hope. Hebrew s 11:1b

  1. Faith is an open door through which God comes in to your life and situation. Revelation 3:20, Proverbs 15:13, 2 Chronicle 16:9, Psalm 14:2, 27:8 63:1-8
  2.  Faith is victory. It is the victory that overcomes our problems, prison, addictions, pains, fears and more. 1 John 5:4, Numbers 13:30, Numbers 14:8-9, Philippines 4:13, 2 Timothy 1:12-14
  3. Faith is God’s gift to mankind which assures us that all that He says will come through. Ephesians 2:8, Romans 12:3, Hebrews 12:2, Romans 10:7, Romans 4:5, 5:1, Acts 14:27

Conclusion

As we go through this topic, it is our prayer that your faith in God will increase, grow and mature as you walk with God.
